Haldi Ceremony
A mix of traditions, fun, laughter and the aroma of turmeric in the air – the Haldi ceremony is all this and much more.
Ever wondered why Haldi has a whole event named after it? Well, the special spice is said to ward off the evil eye till the big day arrives as well as has medicinal properties that do tons of good for the skin. That’s a BOGO offer you just can’t turn down.
The Haldi ceremony itself is a long-standing tradition that takes place before the wedding itself where friends and family are invited to shower their love and blessings on the groom. These blessings are symbolised with a healthy mix of either milk, rose water, sandalwood, curd and of course turmeric which is then spread liberally over the groom’s face, arms and legs, sometimes a bit too liberally. One would almost think the groom’s being marinated for his big day.
